2012 KIDS TRIATHLON CAMP & KIDS TRIATHLON

A BRAND NEW USA Triathlon sanctioned kids triathlon camp and triathlon for kids ages 5 to 12 years old sponsored by the Triathlon Connection Club of Rancho Cucamonga. This camp will feature instructor led swim, bike, run and transition training and a safe, fun, age-specific distances practice triathlon. USA Triathlon Certified Coach, Coach Tony Troccoli will offer Pool Swim, Bike, and Run instruction to prepare athletes for their race. Here's a great way to have fun and help the club raise some money.
With 10 or more people registered under our Triathlon Connection Team, the Pasadena Marathon will donate 15% of our team’s total registration fees back to our club (nonprofit organization).
To do so, you'll just need to register for any 2012 Pasadena Marathon events (Full marathon/ half marathon/ 10K /5K /Bike Tour/ and even kids run!), click on “Register Now” then select Triathlon Connection under select a team drop down menu after you sign the active waiver.
And if more then 25 people registered under TC, we'll also get a tent at the finish line festival on raceday.

I recently read an article about the growth of triathlon. In 1993, USAT membership was just short of 16,000 members. Year end 2010, it had over 130,000. Not all triathletes register with USAT so there are many more of us than statistic show. And that got me thinking about how we (TC) has grown; not just in numbers but in other ways.

Richard Smith, co-founder of Fluid Sports recovery drink, will be our guest at our next Triathlon Club meeting on Monday July 25. Richard is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University – B.S. Kinesiology, with an emphasis in exercise science and nutritional biochemistry. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a Certified Personal Trainer by the American Council on Exercise. One of his specialties is the physical training and rehabilitation of collegiate and professional athletes.
While completing his degree, Richard took an active role in progressive exercise physiology research for paraplegic wheelchair users. Richard competed in collegiate track and field and still plays competitive soccer. He also coaches high school and club sport teams as well as mentors individuals to achieve their athletic goals.
The meeting will be held at REI in Rancho Cucamonga (2218 Foothill Blvd Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91739) at 7:00 PM. We will have snacks and refreshments.
This is our annual new and renewal drive. If you join as a new member at the meeting or have joined this past year, you will receive a club bag. All memberships (except new or renewals in the last 3 months) expire on July 1, 2011.
